Belfast International getting ready for Easter weekend

Belfast International Airport is getting ready for the busy Easter weekend, with more than 80,000 passengers expected to travel through the hub in the coming four days.

It is thought that Good Friday will be the busiest day, with travellers heading away and many people returning home to the Northern Ireland capital from places such as London, Glasgow and Liverpool.

In a statement the airport said: "To ensure passengers have a smooth journey through check-in and security search, we recommend that passengers arrive at the airport properly prepared to travel and are aware of the security requirements that remain in place in order to pass through the search area as quickly as possible.

"Passengers are reminded of the restrictions on liquids in hand baggage and that strictly one piece of hand baggage per passenger is allowed."

New services launched from Belfast International this year include London Heathrow with Aer Lingus, and Las Vegas with Thomas Cook.
