Rise in demand for Belfast, Manchester flights

Ticket sales on Flybe's flight routes between Manchester and Belfast between May 12th to 14th rose by half compared to the same time last year, the regional airline reports.

Driven in part by Glasgow Rangers' fans heading to Manchester for the UEFA Cup final, Flybe has seen a significant surge in demand for seats.

Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer for Flybe, commented: "Considering Rangers' fans are some of the most committed in Britain, some might say this is not exactly a huge surprise. Nonetheless we're thrilled the fans have chosen to fly with us and we look forward to transporting them to and from Manchester."

The low-cost operator currently services up to eight flights a day from Northern Ireland's capital to Manchester.

According to Flybe, flights between Belfast City airport and Manchester took prime position in the airline's top ten routes among Britain's flyers over the recent Bank Holiday. ADNFCR-1390-ID-18595367-ADNFCR
