Virgin cabin crew offer top packing tips

With the holiday season now well under way, the nightmare of packing has become all too real, with even a short city break causing suitcase dilemmas.

According to Joe Bates, a flight service manager for Virgin Atlantic, a good suitcase is essential for clever and efficient packing.

Carrying make-up and jewellery in a small vanity case can save space as well as taking only a few core items that can be matched as separates and jazzed up with accessories.

Fellow cabin crew member Angela Greener advised: "Always write a packing list beforehand and follow this list religiously. If it's not on your list, then don't pack it, as you don't need it."

Another great tip from the flight experts is to always try to carry miniature size toiletries and leave bulky hair styling tools such as hairdryers at home, as every hotel will have one.
