Zoo time for photographers

A competition for budding photographers is taking place at Belfast Zoo, where snappers will find plenty of inspiration.

The contest is open to all people flying into Belfast, as well as photography clubs and anybody else visiting the zoo.

Cash prizes are being offered to the best entries and the competition ends on September 26th.

Animals that photographers will be able to get a look at include a number of rare and endangered species, such as Barbary lions, which are extinct in the wild, as well as the critically endangered western lowland gorilla.

People not wishing to enter the contest can still enjoy all the fun of the zoo, with penguins, gibbons, sea lions and over 1,200 other species all around to entertain.

The Zoovenir shop will also be open to pick up a gift or two, while batteries can be recharged in the Ark Café.
